Busy Bee Dog Productions was started in 2001 by our founders, Lana and Herb Maeder. After performing in disc dog competitions with her dogs, Lana realized she enjoyed entertaining the public and created the traveling Busy Bee Trick Dog Act. She and her performing animals are on tour throughout the year.

In 2005, the Benji the Trick Pony was added to create the Busy Bee Dog and Pony Show. Most people have heard the phrase "dog and pony show", although few have experienced a real one until Benji joined the act.

In 2006, Lana and Herb decided to bring the Busy Bee Dogs to a wider audience by creating the Busy Bee DVDs. After more than a year of work, their first DVD, "The Busy Bee Dogs Present the 3 Little Pigs" was released in late summer 2007. The DVDs are meant to entertain children ages 3-6, but older children and dog loving adults enjoy them too.
