The first DVD is titled "The Busy Bee Dogs Present The 3 Little Pigs." Currently, these talented dogs travel to perform high energy stunts like jumping rope and drag racing cars for special events such as fairs, schools, and corporate events. The pet owners and doggie parents, Herb and Lana Maeder, say the new DVDs can reach a larger audience and the silly antics of the dogs can now be enjoyed by children across America in the comfort of their homes. The idea stemmed from observations made from live performances and the desire to travel less. Mrs. Maeder explained how easy it was for people of all ages and ethnicities in the crowd to connect with the dogs. "There is something magical that takes place when the dogs perform," she mentions with a growing smile. "For example, shy children have been known to suddenly jump up, scream and flail their arms wildly in hopes of being selected as a volunteer during shows," she says. Maeder hopes to be able to continue to touch the lives of dog loving audiences through the content of the home entertainment products. Each DVD will contain special key educational messages. "Sometimes the messages will relate to subjects like healthy lifestyles and sometimes they might promote and encourage good morals and ethical decision making." replies Maeder. "As a mother of two young boys, if my children are watching TV, I would like them to be learning at the same time they are watching," the 35 year old mother of two implies. When asked what can be expected of the series, Maeder says, "Without giving away all the surprises, the first DVD is a remake of the classic fairy tale The 3 Little Pigs. Evidently, the dogs wear costumes to step into character. There is also a puppet narrator, a dance section, Hickory Dickory Dock sing-a-long, and of course, the dogs will spread their magic while acting out roles true to their unique personalities." The DVDs are non-violent, and exclude gender bias. The products are geared towards younger audiences, primarily children ages 3 and up. "But all of us have a kid hidden somewhere inside of us, so it's ok if adults who love animals buy them (the DVDs) too. I won't tell," laughs Maeder. The first DVD, in a series of three, is anticipated in stores in the middle of August.
